Psychotherapeutic counselling is a type of counselling that draws from theories and approaches used in psychotherapy. The emphasis is on the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client which differentiates it from most other types of counselling.
Building a therapeutic relationship within which you feel comfortable is important so you explore your own thoughts, feelings or behaviours. I provide a confidential and empathic space where you can talk about things you might not be able to discuss with anyone else.

What is psychotherapy?

It is all about you

Number of sessions
Psychotherapy is repair and care of the psyche, wounds that have occured and need healing. Counselling is more about here and now problem solving.
Whether counselling or psychotherapy, this is all about you. I provide a compassion, warmth and potency to enable you, working at your own pace, to consider and work through your experiences.
The number of sessions that is appropriate for you will depend on what it is you want to bring to therapy. We can discuss this so you are clear what is available and what to expect.
